Dehumidifier will not power on at all (no lights, no display)

Safety: Unplug the unit before opening. If you are not comfortable working with mains voltage, contact a technician.

Steps to diagnose no power:

• Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
• Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks. If damaged, the cord must be replaced with a Whirlpool-compatible assembly.
• Access control board: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the main control board. Look for an onboard fuse (glass or ceramic). Check continuity with a meter; replace only with the same rating if blown.
• Check thermal fuse: Some Whirlpool units have a thermal fuse in series with the line. Test for continuity and replace if open, using the exact temperature and current rating.
• Board inspection: If fuses and cord are good, inspect the board for burnt components or cracked solder joints. A failed power supply section usually requires board replacement.

Test: After replacing any fuses, cord, or board, reassemble and plug in. Confirm that the display lights and the unit can be turned on.
