Possible Causes
Clogged air filter, Dust buildup on blower wheel, Blower wheel loose on motor shaft, Collapsed internal duct or foam
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing grilles or covers.
Steps to restore airflow:
- Clean or replace filter: Wash the filter thoroughly or replace it if damaged.
- Inspect blower wheel: Remove the front grille and look at the blower wheel. Clean off dust and debris with a soft brush and vacuum.
- Check for looseness: Gently wiggle the blower wheel on the motor shaft. If it is loose, the set screw or clip may need tightening (if accessible).
- Inspect ducts: Ensure internal foam ducts are not collapsed or out of position blocking airflow.
If airflow remains weak and the fan motor seems slow or noisy, the fan motor may be failing and should be replaced.
