Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure your hands are dry. Do not open the unit while it is plugged in.
Steps to troubleshoot no power:
- Check outlet: Plug a lamp or other device into the same outlet to confirm it has power. Reset any tripped breaker or GFCI.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks in the Whynter power cord. If damaged, discontinue use.
- Try another outlet: Plug the unit directly into a different, known-good wall outlet (no extension cords).
- Internal fuse check (advanced): If comfortable and after unplugging, remove the control panel cover and look for a small glass or ceramic fuse on the main control board. If visibly blown, it may be replaced with the exact same rating. If it blows again, a deeper fault exists.
If there is still no power after these checks, the main control board or power supply circuit is likely defective and should be serviced by a professional.
