Possible Causes

Blocked condenser airflow, Extremely dirty filter and coils, Fan motor not running or running slowly, Faulty high-temperature sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug the unit. Let it cool for at least 20 minutes before working on it.

Steps to resolve F2:

  • Clean air filter: Remove and wash the filter. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
  • Inspect fan operation: With the front grille removed (and after re-plugging), briefly power on the unit and confirm the fan spins at full speed. Turn off and unplug again before touching anything.
  • Clean condenser coil: Vacuum dust and lint from the warm condenser coil at the back or side of the unit.
  • Check placement: Ensure the unit is not in a confined cabinet or against a wall that traps hot air.

If F2 persists and the fan is not running or is noisy, the fan motor or high-temperature sensor may need replacement by a professional.
