P2
Whynter
Internal Condensate Reservoir Full (Continuous Drain Not Installed or Blocked)
Dehumidifier shows P2 and stops running, often after some time of operation

Possible Causes
Internal reservoir full, Continuous drain hose kinked or blocked, Drain port clogged with debris, Faulty water level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the unit OFF and unplug it before draining water.
Steps to resolve P2:
- Drain the reservoir: If your Whynter model has an internal tank or tray, remove the drain plug or pull out the tank and drain all water into a suitable container.
- Check continuous drain setup: If you use a gravity drain hose, disconnect it and blow through it or flush it with water to clear any blockage. Ensure the hose runs downhill with no kinks or loops.
- Clean the drain port: Inspect the rear or side drain outlet on the unit. Use a cotton swab or small brush to remove lint, slime, or mineral buildup.
- Reinstall and test: Reconnect the hose securely, making sure the connection is tight and leak-free. Plug the unit back in and run it. Confirm that water flows freely out of the hose.
- Sensor check: If P2 appears immediately after draining and cleaning, the internal water level sensor or float may be stuck or defective and may need replacement.
Note: Always route the drain hose to a floor drain or suitable container lower than the unit to maintain proper gravity drainage.
