Possible Causes
Worn membrane switches, cracked control panel PCB, loose ribbon cable, moisture damage under keypad
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Inspect panel: Remove the front/top cover to access the keypad PCB and ribbon cable.
- Reseat cable: Disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the keypad and main board to ensure a solid connection.
- Check for moisture: Dry any condensation or spills inside the panel. Allow several hours of drying time before reassembly.
- Test buttons: With the panel open (and power disconnected), press each button and listen/feel for a click. If some feel mushy or do not click, the keypad assembly likely needs replacement.
