Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main board, moisture intrusion into control panel, failed touchpad or display PCB, control board firmware fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the ice maker before opening the control panel.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes to allow the control to fully reset. Plug back in and test.
- Access control panel: Remove the top/front cover to expose the display and keypad assembly.
- Check ribbon cable: Ensure the flat ribbon cable or wire harness from the display/keypad to the main control board is fully seated and not damaged.
- Inspect for moisture: Look for condensation or water droplets inside the control panel. If present, dry thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow the unit to air dry for several hours before reassembly.
- Check buttons: Press each button and feel for a positive click (for mechanical switches). If some buttons are unresponsive or stuck, the keypad PCB may need replacement.
- Replace control panel: If E10 persists and wiring is intact, replace the control panel/display assembly with the correct Antarctic Star part.
