Safety: Unplug the unit before disassembly.

Steps:

• Inspect water distributor: Remove the top cover and check the water distribution tube or spray bar above the evaporator. Ensure it is properly seated and directing water onto the evaporator, not into the bin.
• Check tray and drain: Inspect the ice tray or evaporator tray for cracks and ensure any drain holes are clear of debris.
• Clean scale: Mineral buildup can divert water flow. Clean the tray and distributor with a vinegar solution and rinse.
• Plumbed models: If connected to a water line, ensure the inlet valve closes fully. A valve that drips can overfill the system and may need replacement.
