Possible Causes
Clogged inlet screen on water valve, Failed water inlet solenoid valve, Kinked or frozen water supply line, Low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the ice maker and shut off the water supply before disconnecting any water lines.
Steps to troubleshoot:
- Check water supply: Confirm the shutoff valve feeding the Arktic ice maker is fully open. Inspect the supply hose for kinks or crushing behind the unit.
- Test water pressure: Disconnect the line at the back of the ice maker and briefly open the shutoff valve into a bucket. A strong, steady stream indicates adequate pressure.
- Inspect inlet valve screen: Remove the rear lower panel to access the water inlet valve. Disconnect the inlet hose and inspect the small mesh screen for sediment. Clean gently with a soft brush and water.
- Check valve operation: Reconnect the inlet line, plug in the unit, and start a cycle. Listen for a click and water flow when the valve should open. If there is power to the valve but no water passes, replace the water inlet valve assembly.
- Check for frozen line (if installed in cold area): Feel along the water line for frozen sections. Thaw gently with warm towels; do not use open flame.
Important: Always use OEM Arktic water inlet valves to ensure correct pressure and flow characteristics.
