Possible Causes
Dirty condenser coil, Failed condenser fan motor, Blocked ventilation around cabinet, Weak compressor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit before cleaning coils or working near the fan.
Steps:
- Check airflow: Ensure the Arktic ice maker has the required clearance around sides and back per the installation manual. Move it away from walls or cabinets if necessary.
- Clean condenser coils: Remove the lower rear grille to access the condenser. Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove dust and lint from the coil fins. Avoid bending fins.
- Inspect condenser fan: With the panel off, plug in and start the unit. Confirm the condenser fan spins freely and at full speed. If it hums, stalls, or does not run, replace the condenser fan motor.
- Check ambient temperature: Very hot rooms can cause high temp alarms. Improve room ventilation or relocate the unit if ambient exceeds Arktic specifications.
- Monitor operation: After cleaning and repairs, allow several hours for temperatures to stabilize. If E05 persists and the compressor runs continuously without cooling, the sealed system may be weak and require professional service.
