Ice Bin Level Sensor or Mechanical Shutoff Arm Fault
Bin full indicator stuck ON; machine will not make ice even when bin is empty

Possible Causes
Blocked infrared bin sensor, Failed bin level optical board, Stuck mechanical bin arm, Misaligned sensor bracket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit before removing front panels or sensor covers.
How to fix:
- Identify bin sensing method: Arktic ice makers use either an infrared (IR) sensor pair or a mechanical shutoff arm.
- For IR sensors: Locate the emitter and receiver near the bin opening. Clean both lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth. Ensure nothing is blocking the beam path. Check that the sensor boards are firmly mounted and aligned.
- For mechanical arms: Verify the bin arm moves freely up and down. Remove any ice jams or obstructions. If the arm feels loose or does not return by spring tension, replace the bin arm assembly or its micro-switch.
- Reset power: After cleaning and freeing the mechanism, restore power and test. If the bin full light remains on, the bin sensor board or switch is likely defective and should be replaced.
