Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on control board, Failed main control PCB, Loose power harness connection, Faulty power cord or wall outlet
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the ice maker from mains power before removing any panels. Do not work on live circuits.
- Verify outlet power: Plug a lamp or small appliance into the same outlet to confirm it has power. If not, reset the breaker or replace the fuse in your home panel.
- Check power cord: Inspect the Asko ice maker power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks. Ensure the plug fits firmly in the outlet.
- Access control compartment: Remove the lower front kick plate or rear service panel (depending on model) using a screwdriver. Locate the main control PCB and its inline fuse.
- Inspect internal fuse: Look for a small glass or ceramic fuse on the control board. If it appears blackened or the filament is broken, it may be blown. Replace only with the same rating if you are comfortable doing so; otherwise contact a technician.
- Check harness connections: Gently press all multi-pin connectors into the control board to ensure they are fully seated. Look for signs of heat damage or corrosion.
- Restore power and test: Reassemble panels, plug the unit back in, and see if the display lights up. If the unit remains dead, the main control PCB is likely faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
