Possible Causes
Failed harvest motor, Jammed ice grid or cutter, Broken gear in harvest assembly, Misaligned ice sweep arm
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before working near moving parts.
- Inspect ice grid: Remove the ice bin and observe the ice grid or cutter assembly. Look for broken wires, bent frames, or ice bridging that could jam movement.
- Clear jams: Gently remove any stuck ice with a plastic tool. Do not use metal objects that could damage the evaporator or grid.
- Check harvest arm: Ensure the sweep arm or rake moves freely and is not obstructed by ice buildup or foreign objects.
- Test motor: Restore power briefly and start a cycle while watching the harvest mechanism. If the motor hums but does not turn, or does not energize at all, it may be failed.
- Replace harvest motor assembly: If mechanical parts move freely by hand but not under power, replace the harvest motor/gearbox assembly with an Asko-compatible part.
