Possible Causes

Faulty door switch, Misaligned door or latch, Broken switch actuator, Loose switch wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before adjusting the door or switch.

  • Check door closure: Ensure the ice maker door closes fully and the gasket is not obstructing closure.
  • Inspect latch and strike: Look at the latch mechanism and strike plate. Adjust screws so the door engages the switch firmly when closed.
  • Locate door switch: The switch is usually near the top or side of the opening. Press it manually with a finger; you should hear a distinct click.
  • Test response: With power restored, press and release the switch while observing the interior light or display icon. If there is no response, the switch or wiring may be faulty.
  • Replace switch: Disconnect power again, remove the switch from its mounting, and install a new Asko-compatible door switch if needed.
