How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker and shut off water before cleaning. Do not use harsh chemicals inside the ice compartment.
- Discard old ice: Empty the ice bin completely and dispose of all ice.
- Clean bin: Wash the bin with warm water and mild dish soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinstalling.
- Clean reservoir and surfaces: Wipe the reservoir, evaporator area, and interior surfaces with a solution of warm water and food-safe sanitizer or a mixture of water and white vinegar. Rinse with clean water.
- Flush water line: Run water through the supply line into a bucket to flush any stagnant water before reconnecting.
- Allow fresh ice to form: Discard the first few batches of new ice and then test taste and odor again.
