Possible Causes
Unit in standby or cleaning mode, failed start relay on control board, defective mode selector buttons, door switch not registering closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
Steps:
- 1. Confirm settings: Ensure the unit is not in 'Clean' or 'Standby' mode. Set to 'Ice' or 'On' per the user manual.
- 2. Check door or lid: Make sure the door is fully closed and the door switch is functioning. If the interior light stays on with the door closed, the switch may be faulty.
- 3. Reset control: Turn the unit off, unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and turn on.
- 4. Inspect control panel buttons: If some buttons do not respond or feel stuck, the control panel keypad may be defective and require replacement.
- 5. Evaluate control board: If all external conditions are correct and the unit still will not start a cycle, the main control board or start relay circuit may be failed and should be replaced.
