Possible Causes
Loose water supply connection, cracked inlet hose, leaking water inlet valve body, drain hose disconnected or cracked, overfilled reservoir overflowing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and shut off the water supply immediately to prevent electrical shock and water damage.
Steps:
- 1. Pull unit out: Carefully move the ice maker away from the wall to inspect the back and bottom.
- 2. Check supply line: Inspect the connection at the household shutoff and at the ice maker inlet valve. Tighten compression fittings gently and replace any cracked tubing.
- 3. Inspect inlet valve: Look for water dripping from the plastic body of the valve. Replace the valve if it is cracked or seeping.
- 4. Examine drain hose: If your Avanti model uses a gravity drain, ensure the drain hose is securely attached and not split. Replace if damaged.
- 5. Check reservoir overflow: Open the unit and inspect the water reservoir. Clean any scale that may be preventing the float from shutting off water at the correct level.
