Avanti
Thin Ice / Insufficient Freeze Time
Avanti ice maker makes ice but cubes are very small or thin and melt quickly.

Possible Causes
Ice thickness sensor misadjusted, dirty evaporator plate, low water level in reservoir, high ambient temperature, control board terminating freeze cycle too early
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before reaching into the ice-making area.
Steps:
- 1. Clean evaporator plate: Mineral scale on the plate reduces heat transfer. Use ice maker cleaner per Avanti instructions to descale the plate and rinse thoroughly.
- 2. Check water level: Inspect the reservoir to ensure it fills to the proper level. Clean the reservoir and float if mineral buildup is present.
- 3. Adjust ice thickness (if available): Some Avanti models have a thickness adjustment screw or setting. Increase thickness slightly and test a few cycles.
- 4. Verify ambient temperature: Move the unit away from heat sources and ensure room temperature is within spec.
- 5. Inspect thickness sensor: Clean and reposition the ice thickness probe so it correctly senses the ice slab. Replace if damaged.
