Possible Causes

Ambient temperature too low, thermistor out of calibration, sensor shorted, control board misreading sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Always unplug before accessing internal components.

Steps:

  • 1. Check room temperature: Ensure the unit is not installed in a garage or unheated area below Avanti's minimum ambient temperature. Move to a warmer location if needed.
  • 2. Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes and restart to see if the code clears.
  • 3. Inspect thermistor: Access the evaporator or bin thermistor and check for secure mounting and intact wiring. A sensor touching an extremely cold surface incorrectly can trigger L1.
  • 4. Replace sensor if faulty: If the thermistor tests out of spec with a multimeter, replace it with an Avanti-compatible part.
