How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working inside. Water and live circuits are a shock hazard.
Steps:
- 1. Remove ice and water: Empty the bin and soak up standing water with towels.
- 2. Locate drain opening: Find the drain hole at the bottom of the ice bin or evaporator area. Clear any ice or debris blocking it.
- 3. Flush drain line: Use warm water and a small funnel to flush the drain hose. If water backs up, the line is clogged and may need to be removed and cleaned.
- 4. Check drain hose routing: Ensure the hose slopes downward continuously to the drain and is not kinked.
- 5. Test drain pump (if present): For models with a pump, listen for pump operation during drain. If silent and water does not evacuate, test and replace the drain pump.
