Possible Causes
Dirty or blocked bin sensor window, Misaligned infrared emitter/receiver, Failed bin level sensor board, Damaged sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before cleaning sensor components.
- Locate bin sensor: Many Balay ice makers use an infrared sensor pair near the bin opening or a mechanical bin switch.
- Clean sensor lenses: Wipe the emitter and receiver windows with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with mild soapy water. Dry completely.
- Check alignment: Ensure the sensor boards are firmly mounted and facing each other correctly. Adjust if they have been knocked out of position.
- Inspect wiring: Verify that the harness to the bin sensor is intact and fully seated on the control board.
- Replace sensor: If the error persists, replace the bin level sensor assembly or infrared board set.
