Possible Causes
Blocked condenser airflow, Failed condenser fan motor, Ambient temperature too high, Faulty high-temperature sensor or thermal cutout
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool before inspection.
- Check installation: Confirm the Balay ice maker has the required clearance around sides, back, and top. Remove any items blocking ventilation grills.
- Clean condenser and fan: Vacuum and brush dust from the condenser coil and fan blades. Ensure the fan spins freely.
- Test fan motor: If the fan does not run when the compressor is on, test the motor for continuity and replace if defective.
- Inspect thermal sensor: Some models use a thermal cutout or NTC on the condenser. Check wiring and replace the sensor if it is open or damaged.
After correcting airflow issues, reset the unit (if applicable) by disconnecting power for several minutes, then restore and monitor operation.
