Possible Causes
Leaking water inlet connection, Cracked internal hose, Overflow from reservoir, Faulty or stuck leak float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water supply valve immediately.
- Access base tray: Remove the front kick plate or rear panel to inspect the base of the Balay ice maker for standing water.
- Dry the tray: Use towels or a wet/dry vacuum to remove all water from the leak tray. Locate the float switch and ensure it moves freely.
- Inspect hoses and joints: Check the inlet hose, internal tubing, reservoir, and pump connections for drips or mineral tracks. Tighten clamps and fittings as needed.
- Replace damaged parts: If a hose is cracked or a fitting is leaking, replace the affected component. Replace the float switch if it remains triggered even when dry.
Do not operate the unit until the source of the leak is fully resolved.
