Possible Causes

Partially clogged water inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Scale buildup in fill nozzle, Faulty flow meter (if equipped)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply before servicing water components.

  • Check water pressure: Ensure the supply to the Balay ice maker meets the minimum pressure specified in the manual. Avoid self-piercing saddle valves; use a proper tee and shutoff.
  • Clean fill nozzle: Remove the fill tube or nozzle above the evaporator tray and soak it in descaling solution to remove mineral deposits. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Inspect inlet valve: Remove and check the inlet valve filter screen for debris. If the valve is noisy or does not open fully, replace the water inlet valve.
  • Flow meter: If your model uses a flow sensor, inspect and replace it if readings are inconsistent or if E16 persists after cleaning.
