Possible Causes
Defective bin thermostat or sensor, Warm air infiltration through door gasket, Fan not circulating cold air into bin, Control not cycling correctly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting internal components.
- Check door/gasket: Inspect the Balay ice maker door seal for gaps, tears, or deformation. Clean the gasket and cabinet mating surface. Replace the gasket if it does not seal properly.
- Bin sensor: Locate the bin thermostat or NTC sensor. Ensure it is properly mounted and not hanging loose. Test its resistance and replace if out of specification.
- Air circulation: Confirm that any internal circulation fan is operating and that air channels to the bin are not blocked by ice or packaging.
- Adjust settings: If available, adjust the storage temperature or ice thickness settings according to the Balay manual to reduce over-freezing.
