• Replace filter: If fitted, replace the Balay water filter cartridge according to the schedule or sooner if taste issues occur.
• Run cleaning cycle: Use a Balay-approved ice maker cleaner and follow the manual to clean the reservoir, evaporator, and water lines.
• Flush system: After cleaning, discard the first 2–3 batches of ice to remove any residual cleaner.
• Check supply: If taste persists, test the household water quality and consider an external filtration system.
