Beko ice maker displays E04 and stops mid-cycle with ice stuck in the tray

Safety first: Disconnect power before touching the ice tray or motor assembly. Do not force moving parts while energized.

• 1. Inspect for mechanical jams:
  • Remove the ice bin to access the ice tray and ejector arm.
  • Look for oversized ice cubes, clumped ice, or foreign objects blocking the ejector blades.
  • Gently clear any obstruction and allow any heavy frost to melt.
• 2. Manually move the tray (if design allows):
  • With power off, gently rotate the tray or ejector arm to feel for binding.
  • If it is completely seized, the motor or gear train may be damaged.
• 3. Check motor wiring:
  • Remove the internal cover over the ice maker module.
  • Inspect the motor connector and wiring harness for loose plugs or damaged insulation.
• 4. Test the motor (advanced):
  • Use a multimeter to check motor coil resistance.
  • If open or shorted, replace the ice maker motor assembly.
• 5. Inspect position switch/sensor:
  • Some Beko models use a micro-switch or Hall sensor to detect tray position.
  • Ensure the switch actuator is not bent or obstructed and that the sensor is firmly mounted.
• 6. Replace the ice maker module:
  • If gears are stripped or the motor is burnt, replace the complete Beko ice maker module or ejector motor assembly.
• 7. Reset error:
  • After reassembly, reconnect power and perform a reset to clear E04.
