Possible Causes

Defective Bosch flow meter (if equipped), Blocked water filter, Incorrectly installed Bosch water filter, Partially closed shutoff valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Turn off water supply and disconnect power before servicing.

  • Check water filter: If your Bosch refrigerator has an internal filter, remove it and inspect the O‑rings. Replace the filter if it is older than 6 months or visibly clogged. Ensure the new filter is fully seated and locked.
  • Bypass test (if possible): Some models allow a filter bypass plug. Install the bypass and test ice maker fill. If it fills normally, the filter was the restriction.
  • Verify shutoff valve: Confirm the household shutoff valve is fully open and not a self‑piercing saddle valve, which can clog easily. Replace with a standard drill‑type valve if needed.
  • Inspect flow meter: On models with a Bosch flow meter in the water line, check for kinks or debris. If the control reports E08 despite good pressure and a new filter, the flow meter may not be sending pulses.
  • Replace flow meter: Shut off water, disconnect the water lines from the flow meter, and install a new Bosch flow sensor in the same orientation (note the flow direction arrow). Reconnect lines and check for leaks.
  • Reset and test: Restore power and water, then run a test fill cycle. Monitor for proper water entry into the ice mold.
