Possible Causes
Improper freezer or ice compartment temperature, Faulty compartment thermistor, Restricted airflow around ice maker, Control algorithm fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Always disconnect power before accessing sensors or fans.
- Verify temperatures: Place an accurate thermometer in the freezer and ice compartment. Bosch ice makers work best around -15°C to -18°C (0°F to 5°F). Adjust temperature settings if needed.
- Check door seals: Inspect gaskets for gaps or tears that allow warm air in, causing long freeze times. Replace damaged seals.
- Inspect vents and fans: Ensure air vents near the ice maker are not blocked by food items. Confirm the evaporator fan runs properly.
- Test thermistor: Measure resistance of the ice compartment thermistor and compare to Bosch specs. Replace if out of range.
- Reset control: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes to reset the control. If E14 returns after correcting temperature and airflow, further board‑level diagnosis may be required.
