Possible Causes
Failed dispenser auger motor, Broken auger coupling, Ice clumped together in bin, Dispenser switch or paddle failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the refrigerator before servicing the dispenser.
- Check for clumped ice: Remove the bin and break up any large clumps. Discard old ice and dry the bin before refilling.
- Inspect auger and coupling: Look at the auger shaft and drive coupling at the back of the bin. Replace the bin if the auger is broken or stripped.
- Test auger motor: With the bin removed, press the dispenser paddle (door switch held closed) and listen for the motor. If silent, test for voltage at the motor terminals (advanced).
- Replace auger motor: Access the motor from the freezer rear or dispenser area (depending on model) and install a new Bosch auger motor if it tests bad.
- Check dispenser switch: If the motor never receives power, test the dispenser paddle switch and replace if faulty.
