  • Check wiring: Follow the thermistor harness from the evaporator to the control board. Look for pinched, cut, or rubbed-through insulation, especially where the harness passes through metal brackets or foam.
  • Test the thermistor (for advanced DIYers): With power still disconnected, disconnect the thermistor from the board and measure resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Café service specs (typically around 10kΩ at room temperature). If reading is open, shorted, or far out of range, the thermistor is bad.
  • Replace the evaporator thermistor: If defective, unclip the old sensor, route the new Café-compatible thermistor along the same path, secure it with clips or zip ties away from moving parts, and reconnect to the control board.
