Steps:
- Access drain pump: Remove the lower front panel to locate the drain pump near the base of the unit.
- Clear obstructions: Remove the pump inlet cover or screen and clean out debris, scale, or food particles.
- Check drain hose: Follow the hose from the pump to the household drain. Straighten kinks and flush with warm water if possible.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the pump’s electrical connector is secure and wires are intact.
- Replace drain pump: If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent and tests open, install a new Café drain pump assembly.
- Test drain cycle: Restore power and run a cleaning or drain cycle to confirm proper operation and that E16 clears.
