Possible Causes
Failed water inlet valve coil, Clogged inlet screen at valve, Low household water pressure, Kinked or frozen inlet line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off power and close the water supply valve to the Café ice maker. Have a towel ready for any residual water.
Steps:
- Verify water supply: Confirm the household shutoff valve is fully open and that other fixtures have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet line: Check the water line from the shutoff valve to the ice maker for kinks, crushing, or freezing (if routed through cold spaces).
- Clean inlet screen: Access the rear of the unit, disconnect the water line at the inlet valve, and inspect the valve’s screen for sediment. Clean gently with a small brush.
- Check for flow: Briefly open the household valve with the line disconnected to confirm water flow (catch water in a bucket). Close valve afterward.
- Test valve coil (advanced): With power off, measure resistance across the valve solenoid terminals. An open coil indicates a bad valve.
- Replace water inlet valve: Disconnect wiring and mounting screws, remove the old valve, install the new Café inlet valve, reconnect the water line with a new compression ferrule if needed, and check for leaks.
- Restore power and test: Run a cycle and confirm the reservoir fills and E7 clears.
