Possible Causes
Water level sensor stuck or scaled, Water inlet valve leaking and overfilling, Harvest cycle timing fault, Evaporator thermistor misreading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit and shut off water. Remove large ice slabs carefully to avoid damaging internal parts.
Steps:
- Clear bin and evaporator: Remove oversized ice from the bin and gently from the evaporator area.
- Clean water level sensor: Access the reservoir and clean probes or float with ice machine cleaner to ensure accurate level detection.
- Check inlet valve for seepage: With power off but water on, observe the reservoir. If water slowly drips in, the inlet valve is leaking and must be replaced.
- Run cleaning cycle: Perform a full cleaning to remove scale that can affect harvest timing and sensor readings.
- Replace thermistor or sensor if needed: If overfreezing continues, replace the evaporator thermistor or water level sensor.
