Mechanical Impact / Ice Drop Noise
Loud banging or knocking noise when the ice maker cycles.

Possible Causes
Loose ice bin or bin rails, Ice slabs dropping improperly, Refrigerant lines contacting cabinet, Loose compressor mounting
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the unit before adjusting internal components. Some noise from ice dropping is normal, but loud bangs are not.
Steps:
- Secure ice bin: Ensure the bin is fully seated on its rails and not loose. Adjust or replace bin rails if worn.
- Check for large slabs: If ice is forming in large sheets, address overfreezing issues (see oversized ice fault) so ice breaks into smaller pieces.
- Inspect refrigerant lines: Look behind the unit for copper lines touching the cabinet. Gently bend them away and add foam sleeves where needed.
- Check compressor mounts: Verify rubber grommets under the compressor are intact and that mounting bolts are snug but not overtightened.
