Possible Causes
Closed or blocked water supply valve, Clogged inlet water filter or mesh screen, Defective water inlet valve, Faulty water level sensor or float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and close the water supply valve before disconnecting any hoses.
- Verify water supply: Ensure the household water valve feeding the Candy ice maker is fully open. Check that the supply hose is not kinked or crushed behind the unit.
- Check inlet filter/screen: Disconnect the water hose from the rear inlet fitting. Inside the inlet valve, there is usually a small mesh screen. Rinse it under running water to remove sediment and debris.
- Flush the line: Briefly open the supply valve with the hose directed into a bucket to confirm strong water flow from the house plumbing.
- Inspect the float or water level sensor: Open the top cover and locate the water reservoir. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by scale or debris. Clean with warm water and a soft brush.
- Test the inlet valve: With the unit unplugged, check the valve coil resistance using a multimeter (compare to Candy service specs; typically 1–3 kΩ). If open or shorted, replace the water inlet valve assembly.
- Reassemble and test: Reconnect the hose, open the water valve, plug in the unit, and start a cycle. If E02 persists after confirming water flow and valve operation, the water level sensor or control board may require replacement.
