Possible Causes
Stuck mechanical float in reservoir, Faulty water level sensor (reed switch or electronic probe), Scale buildup on level probes, Damaged wiring harness to level sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply before opening the cabinet.
- Access the water reservoir: Remove the top or front cover to expose the water tank and float assembly.
- Free the float: Gently move the float up and down. If it sticks, remove it and clean the pivot and surrounding area with warm water and a mild descaler safe for ice makers.
- Clean level probes: If your Candy model uses stainless level probes instead of a float, clean them with a soft cloth and descaling solution to remove mineral deposits that can cause false readings.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the cable from the float or probes to the control board. Check for loose connectors, corrosion, or damaged insulation. Reseat all connectors firmly.
- Test the switch/sensor: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the float switch in both positions, or resistance/voltage on electronic sensors according to service data. Replace the sensor if readings are out of range.
- Reset and test: Reassemble, restore water and power, and clear the error by powering off for 5 minutes. Start a new cycle and observe if E03 reappears.
