Possible Causes

Blocked water pump inlet by debris, Failed water circulation pump motor, Airlock in water line, Loose or corroded pump connector on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and drain the water reservoir before servicing the pump.

  • Clean the reservoir and filter: Remove the ice basket and access the water reservoir. Many Clatronic models have a small mesh filter at the pump inlet; remove and clean it thoroughly.
  • Check for kinks or airlocks: Inspect the silicone hoses from the reservoir to the pump and from the pump to the evaporator tray. Straighten any kinks and ensure connections are tight.
  • Test the pump: With the unit unplugged, access the pump (usually at the bottom of the reservoir). Spin the impeller gently with a non‑metallic tool; it should move freely. If seized, replace the pump.
  • Electrical test: Measure the pump coil resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed pump motor. Replace with a Clatronic‑compatible water circulation pump.
  • Reconnect and test: After reassembly, refill the reservoir, plug in the unit, and start a cycle. Listen for the pump running and check for proper water flow over the evaporator.
