Possible Causes
Misaligned ice full sensor, Dirty infrared sensor lenses, Stuck mechanical ice level arm (if equipped), Faulty ice full sensor board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the ice maker before adjusting or cleaning sensors.
- Empty and reseat basket: Remove the ice basket, empty it completely, and reinstall it correctly. Ensure it is seated fully in its guides.
- Clean sensor area: Wipe the ice full sensor windows or mechanical arm area with a soft damp cloth to remove frost, dust, or mineral residue.
- Check movement: For models with a mechanical level arm, move the arm up and down. It should move freely and return by spring tension. Lubricate lightly with food‑safe silicone if stiff, or replace if broken.
- Sensor test: With the unit running, carefully block and unblock the infrared beam path (if present) and observe if the FULL indication changes. If not, the sensor may be defective and should be replaced.
