Possible Causes
Loose compressor mounting bolts, Worn or noisy condenser fan motor, Ice shovel motor gear wear, Unit not level causing vibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before tightening or touching moving parts.
- Level the appliance: Place the ice maker on a stable, flat surface. Adjust feet (if present) so the unit does not rock.
- Check for loose panels: Tighten any loose screws on the outer housing that may cause rattling.
- Inspect fan and compressor mounts: Remove the rear cover and check that the condenser fan is not hitting any wires or shrouds. Tighten compressor mounting bolts and ensure rubber grommets are intact.
- Shovel mechanism: Listen closely to determine if noise comes from the ice shovel area. If grinding is heard during ice ejection, inspect gears for wear and replace the shovel motor assembly if necessary.
