Possible Causes
Defective start button or touchpad, Loose control panel ribbon cable, Firmware lockup on main PCB, Ice bin full or low‑water sensor stuck active
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the unit from power before removing the control panel.
- Check indicators: Ensure that the FULL or ADD (low water) indicators are not lit. If they are, resolve those conditions first.
- Reset the control: Unplug the ice maker for 10–15 minutes, then plug it back in and attempt to start a cycle.
- Inspect the start button: For mechanical buttons, press repeatedly to feel for a positive click. If the button feels stuck or mushy, the switch may be worn. Access the control panel and test the switch with a multimeter; replace if faulty.
- Ribbon cable: Reseat the ribbon cable between the display/control panel and the main PCB. Ensure it is fully inserted and not damaged.
- Panel replacement: If individual switches cannot be replaced, install a new Clatronic control panel assembly compatible with your model.
