Buttons on the control panel are unresponsive or require very hard pressing.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before servicing the control panel.

Steps to fix unresponsive buttons:

• Clean panel surface: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove sticky residue that may hinder touch sensitivity. Dry thoroughly.
• Check for cracks: Inspect the panel for visible cracks or warping. Replace if damaged.
• Reseat cable: Open the panel and reseat the ribbon cable connecting the keypad to the main board.
• Replace keypad assembly: If specific buttons still fail, install a new Costway control panel / keypad assembly.
