Possible Causes

Empty water reservoir, misreading water level float, unit not level causing float to read empty, leak from reservoir or hose

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always unplug the unit before tipping or moving it.

Steps to clear ADD / low water warning:

  • Refill reservoir: Remove the ice basket and pour clean water into the reservoir up to the MAX line. Do not overfill.
  • Level the unit: Use a small level or visually check that the ice maker sits flat on a stable surface. Adjust feet or surface as needed so the float reads correctly.
  • Check for leaks: Inspect under and around the unit for water. If the reservoir is losing water, check the drain plug, reservoir seams, and internal hoses for drips.
  • Inspect float movement: With the unit unplugged, gently move the float up and down to ensure it is not stuck. Clean any mineral buildup with vinegar solution and rinse.
  • Restart: Plug the unit back in and press the power button. The ADD indicator should clear once the float senses adequate water.
