Possible Causes
Incorrect ice size setting, evaporator sensor misreading, high water temperature, control board timing fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting sensors.
Steps to correct soft ice:
- Select larger ice size: Choose the largest cube size to extend freeze time.
- Use cooler water: Fill the reservoir with cool water and avoid adding warm water during operation.
- Check evaporator sensor placement: Ensure the evaporator thermistor is firmly attached to the plate so it senses true temperature. Reattach with aluminum tape if loose.
- Defrost and restart: Unplug the unit, let all ice melt, dry the interior, then restart. This can reset freeze/harvest timing.
- Board replacement: If the unit consistently harvests too early despite correct sensor placement, the main control board may have a timing fault and require replacement.
