E08 displayed, ice cubes are very small or thin, production is slow

Possible Causes
Partially clogged water filter, Restricted water inlet valve, Mineral buildup in water distribution tube, Low household water pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Close the water supply and unplug the unit before disconnecting any water lines.
Steps to improve water flow:
- Replace or clean water filter: If your De Dietrich ice maker has an internal water filter cartridge, replace it according to the manual. A clogged filter reduces flow.
- Inspect inlet valve screen: Remove the water line at the water inlet valve and clean the mesh screen of sediment.
- Check water distribution tube: Open the ice compartment and locate the water distribution tube or spray bar above the evaporator plate. Remove it if possible and soak in descaler to remove mineral deposits.
- Verify water pressure: Ensure the household supply provides adequate pressure (typically 1–10 bar). Very low pressure can cause small cubes.
After cleaning: Restore water and power, then run a few cycles. Discard the first batch of ice to remove any residual descaler or debris.
