EdgeStar ice maker forms ice on the evaporator but does not release it into the bin.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before touching the evaporator or moving parts.

• Descale the evaporator: Mineral buildup can cause ice to stick. Use an approved ice maker cleaner to descale the evaporator plate thoroughly.
• Check harvest mechanism: Inspect the sweep arm or harvest motor for free movement and obstructions. Clear any ice jams.
• Observe harvest cycle: After cleaning, run a cycle and watch the harvest phase. If the motor does not move or stalls, replace the harvest motor assembly.
• Call a technician for hot gas issues: If ice still will not release and the unit uses hot gas harvest, a sealed system diagnosis may be required.
