EdgeStar ice maker displays E15; unit may not start a cycle and may indicate a door or panel is open.

Safety first: Unplug the unit before adjusting or replacing the door switch.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes fully and the gasket is not obstructed by ice or debris. Listen for a click from the switch as the door closes.
• Inspect the switch actuator: Look for a plunger or lever that the door presses. If it is broken or stuck, the switch may not change state.
• Test the switch: With the unit unplugged, remove the switch and check continuity while pressing the actuator. Replace if it does not open and close properly.
• Adjust door alignment: If the door is sagging, tighten hinge screws or replace worn hinges so the door properly engages the switch.
• Install a new door switch if needed: Use an OEM EdgeStar door switch and ensure wires are connected to the correct terminals.
