Failed ice size selector switch, Dirty or worn potentiometer, Loose wiring to selector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
- Operate the selector: Rotate or press the ice size selector through all positions several times. Sometimes oxidation on contacts can be cleared by movement.
- Inspect the selector wiring: Remove the control panel and verify the selector's harness is firmly connected to the control board.
- Check for physical damage: If the knob is loose, cracked, or the selector does not click into positions, it may be mechanically worn.
- Replace the selector: Install a new EdgeStar ice size selector switch or potentiometer assembly. Align the knob so the markings match the internal positions.
