Possible Causes

Blown main fuse on power board, Defective main control PCB, Loose power cord connection, Faulty power switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the ice maker from the wall outlet before removing any panels. If hard‑wired, switch off the circuit breaker.

  • Check the outlet: Plug a lamp or another appliance into the same outlet to confirm you have power. If there is no power, reset the breaker or repair the outlet.
  • Inspect the power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or crushed sections. Make sure the cord is fully seated in the rear socket of the Fagor ice maker.
  • Check the power switch: Many Fagor ice makers have a rocker or toggle power switch behind the front panel or on the control fascia. Ensure it is in the ON position and not loose or broken.
  • Access the main control PCB: Remove the rear or side service panel (usually held by Phillips screws). Locate the main control board and its inline fuse. Visually inspect for a blown glass fuse or burnt components.
  • Test the fuse: With a multimeter set to continuity, test across the fuse terminals. If open, replace with the same rating (amperage and type). If the new fuse blows immediately, the control board or another component is shorted and should be professionally checked.
  • Check wiring harnesses: Gently press all multi‑pin connectors into the control board to ensure they are fully seated. Look for signs of corrosion or heat damage.

If the unit still does not power up after these checks, the main control PCB is likely defective and should be replaced or diagnosed by a qualified technician.
