Possible Causes
Defective main control PCB, Faulty bin full sensor keeping unit in full state, Failed door or service panel safety switch, Loose wiring to compressor relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before opening any panels.
- Check bin full status: Empty the ice storage bin completely and ensure the bin is properly seated. Some Fagor models use an infrared bin sensor or mechanical bin thermostat; make sure nothing is blocking the sensor window.
- Inspect the bin full sensor: Locate the bin sensor (usually near the top of the bin or on the evaporator frame). Clean the sensor lenses with a soft cloth if it is an infrared type. For mechanical thermostats, ensure the capillary bulb is correctly positioned and not broken.
- Verify door/panel switches: Some models have a safety switch that stops operation when the front panel is removed. Press and release the switch by hand to ensure it moves freely. Test continuity with a multimeter; replace if open when pressed.
- Check compressor relay wiring: On the control board, locate the compressor output terminals. Confirm that the wiring harness to the compressor and condenser fan is firmly connected and not burnt.
- Reset the control: Disconnect power for 5 minutes, then reconnect and attempt to start the unit. If E02 returns immediately and all sensors are OK, the control PCB may be faulty.
If the unit still will not start, replacement of the main control PCB or bin sensor may be required.
